Department of Emergency Medicine

The Accident & Emergency department at Queen's NRI Hospital is an 12 bedded facility, fully equipped, dealing with a wide spectrum of patients with acute emergencies (including the critically ill, injured or life threatening conditions) for initial evaluation, resuscitation, treatment, investigation, stabilization, monitoring and referrals where required.

Road Traffic Accidents, and other trauma, poisoning cases, snake bite and any other emergencies will be dealt with very efficiently.

The department is manned by a team of trained and highly experienced emergency doctors committed to providing quality emergency care with the highest level of specialty expertise and meeting strict standards laid down by the hospital. Strategically located on the Ground floor, it provides easy and uninterrupted access from outside for the transfer of patients on stretchers or wheelchairs, and also has a dedicated path for ambulance and private vehicles.

Primarily, the department receives, stabilizes and manages all kinds of patients who present with any acute emergency, whether self or referred. Through collaborative effort and coordination with various departments, Consultants, Intensive Care Unit and other support services, our team of highly experienced doctors, nurses and paramedics provide urgent and high quality medical care to patients round the clock.
