Vacuum Assisted Closure
Vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy has been used to manage wounds for 20 years and has taken wound treatment to a higher level. Clinical applications include chronic and acute wounds. Wound treatment has become easier with VAC. It improves the quality of life of the patient and reduces hospitalization time and expenses. With the development of a portable vacuum device, treating patients with wounds is possible even in the home. We have been treating admitted and home care patients with VAC for five years in our Wound Centre. In this article, we discuss our experiences with VAC and review the procedure's current applications and complications.
Features :-
- VAC HVDT it's a heavy duty version of VAC IROX.
- It has dual compressor which can heal very big wounds, burns cases.
- It covers multiple wounds
- It has deluxe Dressing Kits
Advantages :-
- Drains out pus and inflammatory fluids.
- Reduces bacterial load
- Reduces edema
- Faster wound healing
- Improves micro circulation
- Enhances granulation tissue proliferation
- No cross or secondary infections in wards.
- Irrigation Provided time to time medicines.
- Anaerobic bacteria can't Survive in oxygen.
Indications :-
- Open Fracture.
- Fasciotomy.
- Infected wounds.
- Bed sores.
- Necrotising Faseiatis
- Chronic, Non healing wounds in diabetics.
- Surgical incisions that cannot be closed without tension.
- Closed surgical incisions with continued wound drainage.
- Hematoma in surgical wounds.
- Skin graft dressings/ flaps.
- Cost Effective.
- Dressing only once in 4-5 days.
- Since wound heals faster less number of dressings.
- Reduces hospital stay or treatment period and pain of patient.
- In Irrigation model we can instill normal saline in the wound after desired time intervals which can be programmed in equipment. We can also add antibiotic or medicines like Butadiene to that saline.
- It is very useful in VAC since normally we open the wounds once in 4-5 days.
- In that model we can also provide oxygen or ozone tube to the unit so that only pure oxygen will enter the sealed wound. Anaerobic bacteria can't survive in pure oxygen very rapid control over such culture.
Continuous Passive Motion Therapy (CPM)
Designed to provide anatomical motion for the shoulder and elbow, The shoulder elbow CPM addresses a complete range of motion capabilities. The control mode has three types : Normal, Angle and Speed mode. The normal mode shows that the machine runs according to the setting data. The angle mode shows that the flex angle can increase 30 , after each 15- 20 min run time, The speed mode shows that the speed adds one level after each 15 - 20 min.
Features
CPU control, Unit will run back while over moment. LCD colour display of running angle, speed and time. Running angle and speed setting function. Suitable to adult use who do not tall than 1.9m height.
